Privacy policy

Last updated 27 October 2026

Fiction runs officefiction.com. This page explains what we collect there, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers the website and the galleries, not project agreements that carry their own terms.

1. Who is responsible

In this policy, "Fiction", "we" and "us" mean the company, and "you" means anyone visiting the site. We are responsible for the personal information described here. Write to mail@officefiction.com for anything to do with privacy.

2. What we collect

We collect what the galleries need to work, plus whatever you choose to send us.

Gallery accounts, sign-in records, gallery activity, photographs and their metadata, correspondence, server logs.

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking pixels, and nothing on the site loads third-party content that sets its own cookies.

3. Cookies

We set first-party cookies, none of which are used for advertising or measurement, and none is shared with a third party. The gallery cookies are strictly necessary, so the site does not show a consent banner; the theme cookie only remembers whether you chose light or dark. Clearing them signs you out and resets the theme, and blocking them stops sign-in from working.

4. Legal bases

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on performance of a contract for gallery access, our legitimate interests for security and correspondence, consent where we ask for it (for example, before publishing a client's images or adding someone to a mailing list), and legal obligation where records must be kept. In Canada, we collect, use and disclose personal information with consent or as PIPEDA permits. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions; withdrawing it may mean we can no longer give you gallery access.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. A small number of providers process it on our behalf. These providers may process data outside Canada, including in the United States, under their own safeguards. We also disclose information when the law requires it, when it is necessary to protect someone's safety or our rights, to professional advisers bound by confidentiality, and as part of a sale or reorganization of the studio. In that last case, we will tell you before your information moves to a new controller.

6. Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. You can also ask for a copy in a portable format, object to or ask us to restrict certain uses, and withdraw consent. Email mail@officefiction.com and describe what you need. We will verify your identity before acting and respond within thirty days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca, or to the supervisory authority where you live.

7. Other sites

The site links to Instagram, LinkedIn and a mail client. Those services have their own privacy policies, and this one stops at our domain.

8. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top. For a material change, we will also note it on this page and email gallery users where we have their address.
